 1) How long has Golf Etc.® of America been in business?
Golf Etc. of America, Inc. was established in 1998, and currently has locations nationwide, in Puerto Rico, Europe, Canada and Bermuda.

 2) What is the initial total project cost for my store?
 
Golf Etc.'s turnkey package is $179,500.  Average total project cost for Golf Etc. stores range between $330,000-$400,000 (variables being working capital, size of store and inventory).

Golf Etc.'s turnkey package for the Tech Studio model is $139,500 (1,500-2,000 sq. ft.).  Average total project cost ranges between $195,000-$225,000. The focus of the Tech Studio model is on services / fittings / repairs with smaller inventory levels and square footage.

 3) Are there any "Net Worth" or "Cash On Hand" requirements?
Golf Etc. does not have a “Net Worth” requirement. However, the prospective store owner must have at least $40,000 to $125,000 liquid resources available to invest in the store. Examples of sources include: cash on hand, IRA accounts, home equity loans, investors, friends and relatives.

 4) Does Golf Etc. provide any financing?
Golf Etc. of America does not offer any direct financing. However, we have established relationships with preferred lenders to finance your store. We will also assist you in presenting your financing proposal package to the lender of your choice.

 5) What about a business plan?
Golf Etc. will assist you in preparing a comprehensive Business Plan complete with market and competitive analysis.  It will also include a 5 year Pro Forma, project cost breakdown and demographic analysis.

 6) What is the initial franchise fee?
 $30,000, franchise fee.

 7) What are Golf Etc.’s royalty rates?
Golf Etc.'s royalty rates are 2.5% of gross sales.

 8) Does Golf Etc. provide any advertising assistance?
Golf Etc. provides you with a marketing and advertising plan for your store. This includes various radio advertisements, print ads, web assistance, POP packages, store signage, sale signage and marketing brochures, along with other marketing assistance.

  9) Does Golf Etc. provide ongoing technical assistance?
Golf Etc. provides technical and management assistance by a dedicated team of professionals in all phases of the business.

 10) What is the size requirement for a Golf Etc. store?
Golf Etc. stores range in size from 1,500 to 4,500 square feet, depending on your location.

 11) What about training?
Our comprehensive training program is 2 weeks long, and it takes place at our corporate headquarters prior to your store opening.  Training includes Mitchell certification and BGF Fitting certification. Following training at the corporate office, on-site training (prior and after your storeis open) takes place.

  12) How soon can I open my franchise?
Generally, our stores open within 60 to 90 days from the signing of the franchise agreement and after attending training. In total, it typically takes 4-9 months from payment of your initial deposit for your territory to opening.

 13) How do I get started?
The first step is to fill out the Retail Data Application you can find online (step 2 of start your own franchise) or enclosed with your requested packet. Upon receipt of your completed Retail Data Application, we will review and determine whether you are approved for your markets, as well as send you our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). Enclosed with the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) is a Purchase Agreement. After being approved, you may send in the signed Purchase Agreement, along with a $15,000.00 deposit to secure you territory. We then begin the process of opening your store.

 14) Upon executing the Purchase Agreement and the rights to a territory, what are the next steps?
The next steps in the planning process include: setting up the comprehensive business plan (market and competitive analysis along with 5 year financial projections), financing with Golf Etc. National SBA preferred lenders or your own lenders (if needed), business entity and license set up, site selection and lease negotiations, various comprehensive training sessions, inventory set-up and management, design and layout of the store, plus other additional steps to open your store.
